Luann Simpson Receives Ed Erwin Memorial Award

We are pleased to announce that the 2020 Ed Erwin Memorial Award has been presented to Luann Simpson.

Last year, we lost a highly respected member of the Movin’ Out Board of Directors, Ed Erwin. Ed was an advocate, a writer, and an educator about mental illness, recovery, the power of peer support, and the importance of stigma reduction. His presence and activism continue to be greatly missed.

To memorialize Ed, Movin' Out created an award in his name. The Ed Erwin Memorial Award is given to an individual who believes in and exemplifies the philosophy that Ed shared with us all during his lifetime.

We wish we could be together to celebrate Luann’s accomplishments at the Anniversary Gala we had planned. Instead, we offer this video for you to learn about her contributions to education, advocacy, and support for people with mental health challenges.
